Takada Sekai-kan is the oldest still-running cinema in Japan. Originally opened as a playhouse in 1911, it was revamped into a cinema five years later and continues to screen films today.

The antique Western-style building, with its beautiful white walls and arched windows, is registered as both a National Tangible Cultural Property and a Heritage of Industrial Modernization. Inside, visitors can view the original columns, ceiling decorations, and the projection room, all retaining the retro charm of the time it was built.

Along with movie screenings, the theater uses its stage for concerts and other events. Guests can also take guided tours between films.

Come and immerse yourself in the nostalgia of early 20th-century Japan!
