Okumiomote Dam

Rising gracefully amidst the untouched wilderness of Bandai-Asahi National Park, Okumiomote Dam holds the distinction of being Niigata Prefecture’s only arch-type concrete dam—and the largest in storage capacity among all dams managed by the prefecture.

Downstream, the crystal-clear waters of the Miomote Dam and its lake, together with the scenic Asahi Super Line and primeval forests, have been selected as one of the Niigata One Hundred Scenic Views.
